ATA AUDIO ENHANCES SCOOP REPORTER II

Scoop Reporter II RMROCKAWAY, New Jersey -- ATA Audio’s Scoop Reporter II, a portable audio codec offering both POTS and ISDN facilities for field reporting applications, has recently received several notable enhancements.

At no extra charge, every Scoop Reporter II now comes equipped with ATA’s new "Express Profiles" software for PC-programmability. This enables up to 99 presets to be downloaded from a PC to the codec in a matter of seconds, eliminating the time-consuming task of programming them all in on the face of the unit. The software also enables the PC to print out a list of profiles along with their dial-up numbers, algorithms (G.711, G.722, ISO/MPEG Layer II and J.52) and line type (POTS or ISDN), making call-ins to the studio or a sister-station as simple as possible.

Also new is an internal ‘D’ cell battery backup that allows the Scoop Reporter II to seamlessly provide over two hours of operation in the event of a power failure. This is a dramatic improvement over other remote codecs on the market, which cease to function when faced with even minor intermittent outages.

Additional new Scoop Reporter II features include:
o External 12-volt capability for use with cigarette lighters or remote trucks with
12V supplies
o Heavy-duty padded carrying case that will allow the unit to safely ride in an airplane’s
overhead compartment
o 24-hour technical support line
o Newly rewritten owners manual with a ‘quick start’ that will enable the on-air radio
staff to be up and running within minutes

Also new from ATA is a rack-mounted studio version of the Scoop Reporter II, known as the Scoop Reporter II RM. The RM model is virtually identical to the field unit minus the battery backup and mixer functions, which are both unnecessary in the studio. The perfect companion to the portable model, the Scoop Reporter II RM can automatically detect whether the incoming signal is a POTS or ISDN connection, eliminating any potential guesswork or repatching.
