ATA INTRODUCES NEW PORTABLE AUDIO CODEC

ROCKAWAY, New Jersey -- ATA Audio recently introduced the all-new Scoop Reporter II portable audio codec for field reporting applications. The product is compatible with both POTS and ISDN lines, and supports G.711, G.722, ISO/MPEG Layer II and J.52.

"The Scoop Reporter II is the all-in-one, ‘go anywhere’ box," says Mark Kaltman, ATA Audio president. "Now a field reporter can literally get ‘the scoop’ under any conditions. With an internal ‘D’ cell battery backup and multiple AC voltages, the unit was designed to be used anywhere in the world. The Scoop Reporter II also delivers incredible fidelity in the POTS mode and, of course, digital-quality audio with an ISDN line. From a network standpoint, probably the best thing is its intuitive interface which is so simple to use that talent can hit the road without technical assistance."

Developed for ENG applications where studio access is not possible, the Scoop Reporter II combines POTS and ISDN facilities with an integrated three-channel mixer and internal "D" cell battery backup. With ISDN, the unit sends and receives 20 kHz audio at 128 kbs and 7.5 kHz audio with POTS. Featuring 99 user programmable presets, the unit will handle two microphones and one line level input. A balanced XLR output can be used for studio producer IFB and Mix-Minus feeds from the studio, or to feed a local PA. Operating on voltages from 85 to 265 volts at 47 to 440 Hz, the Scoop II will also provide up to two hours of operation will the internal "D" cell battery backup.
